Oneonta Friendly’s Ice Cream Restaurant Closes Forever

The Friendly's Ice Cream Store and Restaurant on Oneonta's Main Street has closed it's doors forever.  Friendly's closed 14 stores over the weekend in New York State, several of them in Central New York.  Workers at Friendly's told me that some of them were notified that the store would not open on Monday as they were driving in to work their shift.  A sign on the door states that efforts are underway to place employees at other Friendly's.  It also directs customers to the nearest Friendly's in Johnson City, N.Y.
