The City of Oneonta Common Council is supporting the Black Lives Matter movement in the form of displayed art. According to ALLOTSEGO, Ailish Floral's owner, Elizabeth Patterson, has gotten the nod by the common council to create a hanging display that will be hung on the fence facing Oneonta's Main Street, above the Westcott Parking Lot.

Patterson will be working with city councilman Mark Drnek and Oneonta Police Chief Doug Brenner on her sign. Drnek made a request to Patterson to include what local law enforcement officers are doing to enhance community relations and says, “We want to engage the public and encourage them to engage the police on things that are important to the community.
