New Scam Related to US Dept of Transportation

The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office reports a scam where a company is sending letters to some area residents, demanding payment to renew their US Department of Transportation identification numbers which are required for commercial vehicles 10,001 pounds or more (SEE LETTER BELOW).

Following an investigation, police warn that this is not a government agency and is a scam so do not respond or send any money. If you receive such a letter, please report it to local police.
