The Division of Consumer Protection’s National Consumer Protection Week is underway, helping individuals understand their consumer rights and the resources available that help protect them.

The New York State Division of Consumer Protection (DCP) in 2020 assisted 31,689 New Yorkers with a variety of matters related to COVID-19 in 2020, resulting in a record $2,831,400 being returned to consumers wallets. The DCP is hosting two free webinars this week featuring consumer protection related topics. The first, Prevent and Protect from Identity Theft and the second, Savvy Shopping Tips for Smart Consumers.
