Delaware County continues to support meaningful local legislation that improves the quality of life for our residents, particularly those who are most vulnerable. And this includes our animal friends.

At this past Board of Supervisors meeting county government passed Local Law No. 15 of 2021, the Animal Abuser Registry Law. Concerned citizens brought this idea to the attention of the Sheriff’s Office, and through the dedicated work of individuals, some of whom appear in this video, along with majority support of the Board of Supervisors, the idea became law. Companion animals, who have no voice of their own, have gained stronger protections under this new Local Law. Citizens are reminded; if you see something, say something. Contact local law enforcement.
