The Otsego County Department of Health will be holding a first-dose only COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Wednesday, April 14 at the Meadows Office Complex on County Hwy 33 W in Cooperstown. Hours are from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. To register, visit apps2.health.ny.gov but keep in mind that you only have five minutes to register. If you don't complete the on-line form within that time frame, the website times out on you and you'll have to start over.

Why is it designed this way? Your guess is as good as mine and unfortunately, on-line registration for vaccines has been a real challenge for the elderly. If you have a senior citizen parent, and they haven't been able to get their vaccine yet, you may want to help them get an appointment by completing the on-line registration for them.

For those wanting to participate in this Wednesday's Cooperstown COVID-19 clinic, pre-registration is required and walk-ins will not be accepted. This is the Moderna vaccine so only those 18 and older can receive it. For those 16 and 17 years of age, the Pfizer vaccine is available at the New York State-run COVID-19 vaccination site at SUNY Oneonta's Alumni Field House. To register for an appointment at that site visit am-i-eligible.covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov, then click on "Get Started". After eligibility is determined, you'll have an opportunity to choose the vaccine site on the state-run list where you want to receive your vaccine doses. It's simple to sign up and it takes about 10 minutes to complete.

Do not register unless you meet the current eligibility.
