One of the current issues State Senator Tom Libous is tackling in the 52nd Senate District, is the planned closing of the Greater Binghamton Health Center by the Office of Mental Health.

"We really have to look at the plan, there's a number of things we have to look at," Libous said. "300 employees, I care about everyone of them in those jobs, I care about the clients in the center, I care about the children's unit, I'm going to work real hard to make sure whatever happens is in the best interest of all the parties."

The closing is about saving money, but Libous says its about losing jobs and and caring  for those with mental and physical disabilities. Libous has an online petition to keep mental health services at the Greater Binghamton Health Center. The site already has over 1,200 signatures. To sign the petition go to tomlibous.com.
