Stink Bugs Getting into Houses Later Than Usual in Western New York
Is anyone seeing a million stink bugs around their house lately? Sometimes I wonder how they get in. I know it's from screens and small cracks, but they just seem too big to fit through small spots. Either way, you might see a ton in your house and there is a simple way to get rid of them, if you don't mind putting this on the counter or maybe in your bedroom:
Here is how can you get get rid of stink bugs if you live in Western New York:
According to a lot of people online, the best thing you can do is this and it is way better than buying an actual trap is this homemade trap:
- A large aluminum foil pan
- Water and dish soap
- A desk light to attract the bugs
Basically put the dish soap and water in the pan and then shine the light near it and keep the room dark. The bugs will be attracted to the light and end up trapped in the water and well, you know the rest. DEAD.
You probably don't remember stink bugs because they have no been around that long actually. Stick Bugs, or Halyomorpha halys, is an invasive insect from Asia that came to Pennsylvania in 1996. Am I the only one who thinks this? Before we flush the stink bug down the toilet, if you squish it, people say that they stink, but ours never really do smell at all. Maybe it is just me? Or maybe we have some of those sterile stink bugs up in Lancaster.
