Patrick Swayze, one of the biggest Hollywood actors of the 1980s and 1990s, died in 2009 of pancreatic cancer. When he passed, he did not know that he had a child…

And that child went on to play for the Buffalo Bills?

After Patrick Swayze passed, it was reported in US Magazine Globe that he had a “secret love child” with a woman named Bonnie Kay. Swayze would have been 20 years old at the time that the child was conceived.

That son is Jason Whittle, who became an American football guard for the NFL.

Did Patrick Swayze Know About His Son?

Nobody knew about Patrick Swayze’s son until Bonnie Kay was on her deathbed in 2012, and she told her son Jason Whittle who his father is.

As you can imagine, many people were skeptical of the truth behind this. In fact, people believed that Jason was lying about being Swayze’s son, including Swayze’s wife of 34 years – Lisa Niemi, who argued that the rumors were false

According to Tuko News, Jason Whittle took a DNA test to confirm who his father is. That DNA test confirmed that he was, in fact, the biological son of Patrick Swayze and they were related by blood.

Who Is Jason Whittle?

Born in March of 1975, Whittle is 48 years old, and a father of 6. He is a former American football guard for the NFL, and he has played for quite a few sports teams. Originally, Whittle was signed by the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent in 1998.

He was part of the Giants teams that won two NFC East titles in 2000 and 2005.  Whittle wore #66 in 2000, and #65 for the Giants in 2005.

While in the NFL, Whittle was also part of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Minnesota Vikings, and most recently, the Buffalo Bills.

When Was Swayze’s Son on the Buffalo Bills?

Jason Whittle, proven by DNA test to be the biological son of Patrick Swayze (according to national news outlets), was part of the Buffalo Bills in 2007 and 2008. According to Spotrac, the largest online sports team & player resource on the internet, Jason Whittle signed two 1-year contracts with the Buffalo Bills. In 2007, Whittle signed a $760,000 contract with the Bills, including a $40,000 signing bonus, $40,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $760,000. In 2008, he signed another 1-year contract, this time for $770,017, which included a $40,000 signing bonus, $40,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $770,017.

In 2007,  Whittle spent most of the season on injured reserve, but in 2008, Whittle started a few games for the Buffalo Bills.

His last NFL game was on December 28, 2008. He wore Buffalo Bills jersey #65 at The Ralph as they faced off against the New England Patriots.

I guess there’s always a Buffalo connection!
