The H.M.S.Bounty, a replica of the famous the British sailing ship, has sunk while getting caught in Hurricane Sandy's tumult.  The ship, originally built for the 1962 Marlon Brando film "Mutiny on the Bounty," was on its way to safe harbor when the disaster struck. It sank yesterday about 90-miles off the Carolina Outer Banks.

The 16-man crew abandoned ship as the waves swamped the Bounty.  14 of the crew were plucked to safety by the U.S. Coast Guard.  Two other crew members are lost at sea.

The H.M.S. Bounty was also featured in "Treasure Island" and "Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest."
