Explosion at Wegmans Injures Two in Ithaca

ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say two people are recovering from injuries suffered in a small explosion in a can recycling machine they were using at a central New York supermarket.

The Ithaca Police Department tells local media outlets that two adults were using a recycling machine in the lobby of a Wegmans supermarket shortly before 6 Wednesday when the explosion occurred.

Police have ruled out a machine malfunction and are investigating the cause of the explosion. No arrests have been made.
