With the emerald ash borer getting closer to Chenango County, concern over the damages it will cause to landowners, residents and county municipalities is growing.

In response, Chenango County officials have been working on a plan with Cornell Cooperative Extension to deal with the damages and hundreds of thousands of dollars in the cost of cleaning up.

The state DEC had put a quarantine on raw ash wood south of the thruway earlier this year.
