The Delaware County Public Health department reported a raccoon submitted for rabies testing from the Town of Stamford was confirmed positive. This is the fifth rabid animal
confirmed in the County for 2019. The raccoon was reported to have attacked an unvaccinated cat, and chickens. The cat has been humanely euthanized. State law requires all dogs, cats and ferrets to have rabies vaccinations. The next rabies clinic is Aug. 22 at 6:00 p.m. in the Roxbury Town Garage.
