State Senator James Seward paid tribute Tuesday to Edward Rossley of Bovina Center as a 2014 inductee to the New York State Senate Veterans Hall of Fame.

Rossley wore multiple uniforms and proudly served our nation in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1943 at the age of fifteen, and was assigned to the USS Burke, a destroyer escort for the Atlantic Fleet. He was injured during the invasion of Okinawa and was awarded the Purple Heart for his heroics.

In his post-military life, Rossley went on to work for the State University of New York Police at the Delhi campus, retiring in 1990 after twenty years of dedicated and faithful service.

Rossley was recognized during a special ceremony in Albany along with other inductees to the New York State Senate Veterans Hall of Fame.
