Crowell to Leave Otsego County Treasurer Post for Military

The man who was elected Otsego County treasurer in 2009 will not seek another 4-year term.

Dan Crowell a Democrat from Middlefield says his commitment to the military is the reason for his decision.

Crowell, who has been on active duty since last January, says he has been undergoing training to become a leader in the elite Army Rangers. Crowell also says he will throw his support behind the county’s acting treasurer Russ Bachman.
