On November 11, 2018 at approximately 11:00 a.m., New York State Police at Norwich arrested Arzou W. Hami, age 43 of Coventry, NY for the felony of Menacing a Police Officer, Menacing in the second degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the fourth degree and Resisting Arrest.

A trooper was dispatched to a residence on State Route 235 in the town of Coventry that Hami was allegedly in the home breaking and throwing things, she had also allegedly threatened the complainant with a BBQ skewer earlier. The complainant told the trooper that Hami was in possession of an X-Acto knife. When the trooper entered the residence, Hami was sitting on the floor and would not show the trooper her hands. She then displayed the knife and began standing up while threatening the trooper several times. Hami was tased and was taken into custody. She was arraigned in the town of Afton Court where she was remanded to the Chenango County Jail on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bail bond. She will return to Afton Court on November 14, 2018 for a felony hearing.
