The Village of Cooperstown now has a new Chief of Police following being sworn in yesterday afternoon by Village Administrator Teri Barown according to AllOTSEGO.

Patrolman Frank Cavilieri will act as a part-time Chief and has been with the Cooperstown police force since February 2019 after moving to Schenevus. He had previously served for 27 years on the Suffolk County Police force on Long Island and retired from that position in 2013.

Cavilieri takes up the role of Chief following the passing of former Chief Michael Covert last March. For more on this story provided in partnership with AllOTSEGO, visit AllOTSEGO.com.
