Carrie Underwood comes from a family of teachers—her mom and both of her older sisters are both in the profession. So, she knows well the challenges those in the profession face, including lack of funding that limits the resources available in their classrooms.

Oklahoma lawmakers have made plans to vote Friday (April 6) on bills that could earmark more money for education. However, it's not clear if the measures will be enough to address complaints by the state's teachers, which have led to walkouts and widespread protests this week.

Teachers have complained they don't have enough funds for basic needs such as textbooks and supplies, and that the state hasn't addressed issues such as too-large class sizes

Underwood's sisters posed for an Instagram shot holding their humorous poster, which riffs off the famous Ryan Gosling "Hey Girl" meme, with a little twist to make it targeted to teachers. "Let's stay strong and fight for our kids," it concluded.

"So proud of my sisters...Making a difference for the best reason...KIDS," Underwood captioned her photo. "Here’s hoping OK schools get the funding they need so students and teachers can come back to a great learning environment! Love you guys!"

Underwood herself has been catching some headlines for recently posting a rare shot of her face, which she's kept largely hidden or obscured since suffering an accident that she said caused her to endure 40-50 facial stitches and possibly changed her appearance. She apparently is in the studio working on new music.
