Planning is underway for Family Farm Day (FFD), this year to be held on August 24, 2019. Once again participating farms will have an opportunity to welcome visitors on their farms and build awareness about local agriculture and a multitude of farm products.

Cornell Cooperative Extension will host its annual FFD Winter Meetings in respective counties on the following dates for all farms interested in participating in FFD 2019.

Otsego Farms: Friday, March 22, 1-3:00 p.m., CCE Education Center, 123 Lake St., Cooperstown Contact: Lyn Weir, 607.547.8886 or lyn@lynweir.com.

 

Attendance at a meeting is highly encouraged as CCE will review revised guidelines, procedures, timelines, and event improvements, as well as address key issues and challenges about agritourism. Any farms new to FFD are required to attend any one of the three meetings to be eligible to participate in FFD 2019.

 

Family Farm Day is a collaborative event produced by Cornell Cooperative Extension Schoharie and Otsego Counties, Cornell Cooperative Ex-tension Delaware County, Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce, Otsego County Chamber of Commerce, Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce, Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, Schoharie County Tourism, Otsego County Tourism, Delaware County Tourism, Schoharie, Otsego, and Delaware County Farm Bureaus, and Schoharie, Otsego, and Delaware County farms.
