Brooklyn Man Robs Same Bank Twice

A Brooklyn man received 26 years for robbing the same bank twice in a two-week period.

Edward Pride, 49, received two 13-year prison sentences, to run consecutively, for each robbery.

On February 11, 2011, pride walked into a Sovereign Bank branch in Brooklyn heights and handed a bank teller a note. He also proceeded to make a gesture with his hand in his jacket pocket, which was intended to lead the teller to believe he had a gun. She gave him $2,500 and he left.

On February 24, 2011, he entered the same bank branch, approached the same teller and made the same gesture and demands. She gave him $3,500.

On March 3, 2011, pride walked into a different Sovereign Bank branch and a teller, suspicious of Pride’s behavior, notified security, prompting Pride to run out of the bank. He was arrested nearby.

He received his conviction in July, 2012, and was sentenced on Wednesday.
