Binghamton University Hosting Preparedness Program
A disaster preparedness training program will be held in Vestal this weekend.
The event, which is part of a state initiative, will be held at the Binghamton University Events Center on Saturday.
Organizers say the program will help provide people with tools and resources to be ready for emergencies and disasters.
The effort is designed to train participants in responding and recovering in the event of a major unforeseen event.
Each family attending the program is to receive a "disaster preparedness kit." The package will contain items to assist people in the immediate aftermath of a disaster.
The training event is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. Saturday. Doors to the Events Center are to open at 9 a.m.
Registration is required. Families can register at www.nyprepare.gov.
