"Big Chuck" D'Imperio was the keynote speaker at the annual SADD Conference at BOCES in Milford on Tuesday.  Over 100 young people listened intently as he implored the the audience to be the leaders they can be and asked them never to forget the small towns from whence they came.  He called them" the future for our area" and lauded them for their commitment to serving their friends, their schools and their communities.

Organizers of this great event included LEAF Council on Alcoholism and Addictions and the Otsego County Sheriff's Department.  Sheriff Richard Devlin also addressed the youth.

The event was attended by many area SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) clubs.  During his keynote address, :"Big Chuck" recognized students from area schools and told some historical facts about their hometowns.  These included Cooperstown, Oneonta, Schenevus, Franklin, Unatego, Worcester, Laurens and Gilbertsville-Mt. Upton.
