The Edmeston Museum is celebrating maple sap season!! Visit the museum on Saturday, March 23rd or March 30th from 9a to 12n or Wednesday, March 27th from 6-8p to see the expanded exhibit on maple syrup processing. Former local processors loaned the museum wooden pails, syrup skimmers, a syrup grading kit, etc. There are tags from former producers. There is a collection of spiles, from those made of wood to more modern ones. See a cross-section of a tree and see where it was tapped for sap decades ago. There are photos of sugar bushes of the past and current sap houses. Free coloring books and temporary tattoos are available for the taking from the regional NYS Maple Producers Association. The museum is free. All are welcome.
