Big Chuck Asks: “Help Me With a 1958 Oneonta Memory”

My memory is not what it used to be, so I am asking for help.

I was chatting with some old geezers that I grew up with and the Oneonta YMCA came up. My memory is that the Y was located on Broad Street and that it had an indoor swimming pool.  Is that true?

I also remember that when my Cub Scout pack would take the bus up from Sidney to the Y we would swim and then visit a bakery across the street to buy cookies for the ride home.  I believe the name of the bakery was Frew's (maybe Shrew's?).

Does any of this make sense?

The year would have been 1958.
