Baby Boomer Alert: “Mod Squad” Debuted This Week In 1968!

"The Mod Squad" was hip, hot and exciting.  It starred Peggy Lipton as the cool blonde rich-girl, Michael Cole as the boyishly cute troubled suburban kid and Clarence Williams III as the street smart African-American con.  Longtime character actor Tige Andrews played their commanding officer after they were picked up off the streets and employed in the fight against crime.

The show was a big hit and ran five years (1968-1973) and 153 episodes.

The tag line for this show was "One white, One black, One blonde."
