Hartwick Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology Dr. Anthony Russo has received another grant from the Autism Research Institute in the amount of $5,260 to continue his studies on the roles of biomarkers in the etiology of autism.

The grant funds will supplement a 2013 Freedman Award presented to biology major Gavin Jenkins, who will work with Russo on this project. This grant is Hartwick's fifth from the ARI since the fall of 2011.

Overall, the Institute has supported research at the College since 2009 by funding 11 projects for a total of more than $80,000. Currently, seven Hartwick biology majors are working on projects funded by grants from the ARI and more are expected to become involved in the upcoming semesters, thanks in large part to the Institute.
