Colorscape Chanango is one of our areas great arts and cultural festivals.  The festival committee is now encouraging local high school students to submit art entries to win cash scholarships.

This is open to high school artists in a five-county area including Otsego, Chenango, Broome, Madison and Cortland counties.  All public, private, parochial and home schooled students are eligible to enter the contest.

Recipients will be in competition to win $350 in cash plus $100 gift cards to Golden Artist Colors products.  Winning entries will be on display (and for sale) at the Colorscape festival in September.  This year's festival will be the 25th anniversary event.

Students are encouraged to employ any medium for their projects, but all entries must be submitted digitally to a jury for assessment of prizes.

The Francis k. Wilcox Emerging Young Artist Scholarships are named after Francis Wilcox who is a retired artist and music teacher at the Oxford Academy School District.

Colorscape Chenango is a major economic engine for Chenango County.  It brings thousands of visitors to our area for a weekend of arts, music, cultural and family fun.  The national magazine, Sunshine Artist Magazine, has named Colorscape Chenango as #33 on their list of the Top 100 classic and contemporary arts and crafts show in the United States.  Approximately 130 artists and craters are expected at the event.  Talents on display include painting, pottery, fabric art, photography and more.  Musical entertainment is also on tap for this fun weekend.
