The storm off the eastern coast of the United State had been downgraded from a Category 1 hurricane to a tropical storm early Saturday morning.

The downgrade was expected as it moved north in the Atlantic Ocean and begins to move west and make landfall somewhere in New Jersey. It is still expected to be a major event for the northeastern U.S.

As of 9:15 a.m., it was again upgraded back to a Category 1 hurricane. It is not forecast to come ashore as a hurricane, but rather a tropical storm.
