Otsego County Sheriffs Search for Missing Robert Merkel, Sr.

The Otsego County Sheriffs Office is attempting to locate 80-year-old Robert Merkel, Sr., whod left Virginia on Monday without his medications and was later reported missing to the city of Chesapeake, Va., Police Department.

It is believed that Merkel traveled to the west end area of Oneonta on July 2 and has not been heard from since. Merkel is described as a 5-foot, 10-inch white male, approximately 200 pounds. He has blue eyes, is bald and wears wire-rimmed glasses.

Merkel was operating a grey 2006 Scion XB motor vehicle when he left Virginia. Anyone with information on Merkel or his vehicle is asked to call the Sheriffs office at 547-1697.
