Believe it or not, streaking once was all the rage.  Yes it was a fad.  An odd one, too.  It involved people stripping buck naked and then running around in public.

I know, I don't get it either.

During the nationally televised 1974 Oscar telecast, staid English actor David Niven was half way through his introduction of Elizabeth Taylor when, yup...it happened.

A man, totally nude, raced from out of the wings of the stage and trotted right behind Niven.  He didn't notice at first.  The audience did, however, and you can hear them start to howl when the sight unfolded in front of them (and millions of viewers).  David Niven eventually caught on to what was occurring.

His ad-libed response to the streaker has been called "Oscar's Greatest Moment."  If you haven't seen it, check it out here!
