National Grid, NYSEG Ready to Mobilize Over 1,000 for Power Grid Assistance

Power companies across the state are preparing for the potential power failures with the arrival of Hurricane Sandy.

The National Grid is in full mobilization mode with 300 line crews, 50 contractors and 200 tree trimming crews ready to go.

NYSEG has 440 personnel ready with 220 crews,107 tree trimmers and 59 contractor crews.

There are also crews from the Chicago area that are heading east to assist with potential outages from the storm.In the Baltimore and Philadelphia area.
