Following an ongoing investigation, the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team and Endicott Police Department arrested two persons Tuesday on drug charges.

Morris K. Simmons, 43, was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, second degree assault, two counts of reckless endangerment second degree, resisting arrest, unlawfully fleeing a police officer third degree, tampering with evidence, criminal use of drug paraphernalia second degree, unlawful possession of marijuana and various vehicle and traffic violations.

The arrest followed a short vehicle pursuit and foot pursuit. Simmons was in possession of several packets of heroin. A search warrant executed at his residence located un-packaged heroin along with 24 packets of heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Further investigation revealed that 31-year-old Wixie L. Nickerson of the same address was associated with Simmons in a heroin trafficking operation. Nickerson was taken into custody without incident. Both, were arraigned in Town of Union court and remanded to the Broome County Jail without bail.
