Delaware County has followed the lead of Broome County, Chenango County and many other counties in the region in declaring a State of Emergency on Monday.

Delaware County Chairman, James E. Eisel, Sr., has declared a State of Emergency for Delaware County. All roads int he county will be closed effective at 8 p.m. Monday through 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Winds from Hurricane Sandy are expected to be sustained at 40 mph with gusts as high as 70 mph throughout the night.

Electrical emergencies and power interruptions should be reported to NYSEG at 1-800-572-1121.
