Chenango County is prepared for any type of weather related event, having dealt with flooding and other related emergencies in past years, according to Emergency Operations director A. Wesley Jones.

Jones said his team is trained in all aspects of dealing with weather and has a great crew prepared to deal with just about everything.

As for Hurricane Sandy, Jones said Chenango County will experience high winds and rain starting late Monday and lasting through Tuesday and possibly into Wednesday. Some areas may experience some flash flooding, but nothing serious.

In conclusion, Jones stressed residents not to panic, but be prepared, stay calm, don't worry and pay attention to the weather forecasts.
