A woman is facing federal charges for embezzling over $22,000 from the Morris School District. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office the woman identified as Kristina Hand of Morris took the money while she served as the district’s treasurer in 2018 and 2019 by taking checks made out to the school district. The federal charges are because the district received funding from the U.S. government when the theft occurred. Hand was released on her own recognizance.
