After a lengthy investigation into Facebook threats toward the Walton Central School District, the Walton Police Department in conjunction with the New York State Police arrested Jennifer L. Morris, 28, of East Branch for one count of falsely reporting an incident in the first degree, a felony, and one count of aggravated harassment second degree, a misdemeanor.

Village police and he New York State police arrested Morris Thursday morning. Morris was arraigned before village of Walton Justice DiLorenzo and remanded to the Delaware County jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. This investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.

According to a report in the Watershed Post, there was a post to the Walton Reporter's Facebook page Wednesday evening that said "Theres a bomb in the Walton little school and its gunna go off tmo morning."

The school district responded by canceling class at Townsend Elementary for Thursday.

The FBI, the New York State Police and its K-9 units, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office and the NYC Department of Environmental Protection police and its K-9 units assisted the Walton Police Department in the investigation and arrest.

Morris was arrested earlier this year in relation to the Facebook threats. Over a dozen children were the subjects of the threats that also contained photos of dead children. Morris had been sending these threats from the Facebook account name Cody Farwell.
