The National Weather Service at Binghamton has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the listening area.

Affected jurisdictions: Delaware and Otsego counties

Winter Storm Warning in effect from 1 AM Thursday to 10 AM Friday

Storm total snowfall is expected to be 10 to 14 inches, with the greatest amounts over higher terrain. The heaviest snowfall is expected to occur later Thursday afternoon and night, when snowfall rates of an inch or more per hour can be anticipated. Snow should slowly come to an end Friday morning. Temperatures will be in the lower 20s. Slippery travel conditions will start to occur during the early morning commute to work and school on Thursday. The evening rush hour on Thursday and the early morning commute on Friday should be more significantly affected.

Affected jurisdictions: Broome and Chenango counties

Winter Storm Warning in effect from 4 AM Thursday to 10 AM  Friday

Storm total snowfall of 6 to 10 inches, with the greatest amounts over southern and eastern portions of these counties.

A winter storm warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet, ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
