Following a recent inspection, DOT engineers are recommending immediate repairs, prompting the temporary closure and five-ton weight restriction on the large culvert carrying NY-80 over Hayden Creek in the Town of Springfield, Otsego County.

This new traffic pattern consists of a one-lane, two-way operation controlled by a temporary traffic signal. Temporary variable message advisory signs are in place.

Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for work zone infractions. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of the driver’s license.
