A man from Ohio has been charged with 9 different counts following his being pulled over for a traffic violation on I-88 on May 8.

Scott D. Travis, 51, of Ashland, Ohio was spotted operating his vehicle in an erratic method while he was traveling on Interstate 88 in the Town of Oneonta.  He was stopped after a complaint was received of a driver causing issues on the highway.  Upon stopping Travis, officers discovered that he was in violation of several laws.  He was arrested and relegated to the Otsego County Jail where he was to await arraignment.  One of the more serious charges included the finding that not only was the driver intoxicated but was also in possession of an unlicensed handgun.

Following arraignment, the defendant was remanded to the Otsego County Correctional Facility on $500.00 cash bail or $2500.00 bond.

Travis is now facing 9 different charges including:

Criminal Possession Weapon Firearm/Handgun
Driving while Intoxicated-1st Offense
Refusal to take Breath Test
Unlicensed Operator
Aggravated Unlicensed Operation-3rd Degree
Driving on Shoulders
Failed to use Designated Lane
Following too closely
Speed in Zone
