New York State Police at Richfield Springs

This past Tuesday night, a devastating fire on County Road 34A in the Town of Cherry Valley took the life of a resident.

A man from Mohawk, NY had gone ashore to Dewongo Island located on Canadarago Lake, noticed his boat had drifted away from the shore and drowned after trying to swim after it.

Troopers were informed that a landowner on South Road in Richfield Springs had shot and killed a dog that had entered his property.
