Center Street

The City of Oneonta will shut down 1500 feet of West Street from Chestnut Street to Center Street. The $1.9 million construction project will begin at the end of March and run through September.

At the Oneonta City School District Board of Education meeting held Wednesday night, one of the subjects discussed was the elementary school consolidation update, as this is the first year without the Center Street elementary school, which was voted to close. Valleyview principal Walt Baskin spoke about the consolidation.

At the Oneonta City School Board of Education meeting on Wednesday, it was presented that the closing of the Center Street Elementary School has saved the school district over $760,000.
