SUNY Oneonta was singled out by a national education advocacy group for its success in improving graduation rates among Hispanic students.

Education Trust ranked SUNY Oneonta No. 11 on a list of the top 25 public institutions in the country that showed the largest gains in graduation rates among Hispanic students between 2004 and 2010.

Over the six-year period, suny Oneonta’s six-year graduation rate for Hispanic students increased from 38.9 percent in 2004 to 60.8 percent in 2010. In addition to showing one of the largest gains, SUNY Oneonta’s 2010 six-year graduation rate for Hispanics was significantly higher than the average—47.2 percent—among the institutions studied.
