The coronavirus outbreak has resulted in SUNY Oneonta employing a staggered schedule for students to move back on campus according to college officials.

SUNY Oneonta's chief facilities planning and safety officer, Lachlan Squair says “This will manage population density as students return to campus and lessen the chance of spreading COVID. Our aim is to keep the campus community, and the larger community, safe.”

Only one family member or friend per student will be allowed to help with move-in. Other changes include a delay for the traditional Pass Through the Pillars event for new students and the annual Founder’s Day celebration scheduled for Sept. 4 will be a virtual event this year.
