New York State’s court of appeals will hear arguments in the case of an anti-hydrofracking law passed two years ago in the towns of Middlefield in Otsego County and Dryden in Tompkins County.

The state’s highest court will review appeals from natural gas interests, despite past rulings that confirmed the town’s right to ban drilling.

The court issued its ruling to reopen the cases without comment yesterday.
