State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli’s office announces it is conducting safety audity for school districts across New York. The audits will determine whether a district is doing enough to ensure schools have adequate and up-to-date safety plans in the event of a school shooting or major emergency. The audits will examine the Safe Schools Against Violence in Education Act parts of which requires district administrators to develop comprehensive safety plans, communications plans and school violence prevention training.
