Sixteen Local Organizations Receive Grant Funds

Sixteen organizations in the region received grants totaling $134,500 from the Community Foundation for South Central New York’s Community Fund and Women’s Fund fall 2013 competitive grant cycles.

$12,000 will go to the Center for Agricultural Development and Entrepreneurship for an outreach program linking dairy farmers to emerging markets. Over $8500 has been awarded to Delaware Opportunities toward operating support for the Big Brother Big Sister Program. The Richfield Springs Community Center is getting $2,769 toward repaving of the center’s parking lot. Four County Library System will get a grand for the Cybermobile women’s outreach project. Girls on the Run was awarded $1,660 to add six new teams in Chenango, Delaware and Otsego counties. And $2500 is going to Opportunities for Otsego for a violence intervention program for older adolescent girls and women.

The Community Foundation for South Central New York, a nonprofit organization founded in 1997, encourages and facilitates personal and institutional philanthropy throughout the region by managing funds within the Foundation’s endowment that are established by donors to achieve specific charitable goals.
