State senator James Seward on Wednesday announced that 50 job creation projects in the 51st Senate District will receive critically important state funds.

The funds are through the second round of Regional Economic Development Council awards, including six projects in Otsego County totaling over $1.4 million.

"Of the $738 million in economic development funding distributed state wide this year, $21 million is being distributed right in our senate district, funding everything from infrastructure improvements to new business ventures to create jobs in our region," Seward said. "I was extremely pleased to offer my support throughout the grant application process and I congratulation many award winners throughout the 51st Senate District."

Statewide a total of $738 million was awarded for 725 economic development projects in every region of New York State.
