We all know what happened to the "big egg" in Sidney's basket over the last few years. Allied Amphenol (once known as Bendix and even longer ago, Scintilla) barely survived two devastating floods which almost drove the century-year old aerospace factory from upstate New York.

After the last deluge, the plant had a decision to make:  stay in Sidney and move to higher ground, or leave the community once and for all.  Luckily for  the region, this major employer decided to keep its relationship with Sidney.  So the move was planned.
