The State Senate passed legislation renaming a portion of Route 205 in Otsego County in honor of United States Marine Corps Sergeant John Kempe Winslow. The bill sponsored by Senator James Seward pays tribute to the decorated patriot who was killed in action during the Vietnam War in 1969. Sergeant Winslow was a life-long resident of Hartwick and served two tours of duty in Vietnam The legislation must still be approved by the state assembly and signed by the governor to take effect.
