State Senator James Seward announced the West Oneonta Fire Department is receiving a $30,000 grant to upgrade an obsolete outdoor siren system. The old system is over sixty years old and Chief Walter Schmitt says the new outdoor siren is a tool that will improve our response time and help alert the community of emergency situations.
